The Gravette Lady Lions Cross Country team delivered a commanding performance at the 4A Region 1 Conference Meet, capturing the conference championship with an impressive team score of 28 points. The meet, held on October 29, 2024, at Northwest Arkansas Community College, saw the Lady Lions dominate the field, with multiple runners earning All-Conference honors.
Litzy Garcia led the charge for the Lady Lions, becoming the overall champion by placing 1st with a stellar time of 20:36.42, securing 1 point and earning All-Conference honors. Keira Ralph followed closely, finishing 3rd with a time of 21:26.38 for 3 points, also claiming All-Conference recognition.
Not far behind, Celia Chernota finished 4th with a time of 22:13.05, adding another 4 points and earning All-Conference honors. Palmer Pittman crossed the finish line in 7th place, clocking in at 22:34.59, securing 7 points and rounding out the All-Conference honorees for the Lady Lions.
Stormy Wynne contributed significantly to the team’s victory, finishing 13th with a time of 23:57.08, earning 13 points. Additional finishers included Sybela Johnson in 25th place at 25:50.30, Nadiyah Thornton in 31st place at 27:36.45, Makayla Ruopp in 36th place at 28:39.06, and Bridgitt Wynne in 43rd place with a time of 30:51.57.
The Lady Lions' depth and determination were on full display as they secured the team title with an impressive 28-point total. Their victory highlights a season of hard work and preparation, and they now set their sights on the upcoming state meet, where they will look to continue their winning ways.
