The Gravette Lions Cross Country team hosted the 4A Region 1 Conference Meet at Northwest Arkansas Community College on October 29, 2024, where the Senior High Boys took home the conference championship with an impressive 46 points.

Leading the Lions was Paxon Chernota, who earned All-Conference honors with a 2nd place finish, clocking in at 16:49.27. Cutter Franks followed closely, finishing 4th with a time of 17:04.45, also securing All-Conference recognition. Michael Bassing placed 11th, posting a time of 17:46.09, while Isaac Nichols (13th, 18:02.04) and Carter Roughton (16th, 18:21.38) rounded out the top five scorers for the Lions.

Bony Pastor-Bonilla finished 21st with a time of 18:48.42, while Levi Keeton placed 27th at 19:23.39. Additional finishes included Nathaniel Griffith (29th, 19:40.54), Jeffrey Franz (34th, 19:55.31), and Tyler Renfro (43rd, 21:16.93), helping to solidify the Lions’ dominant performance. Other participants included Jarett Fort (45th, 21:28.60), Guillermo Garcia (50th, 21:48.63), Jackson Patton (55th, 22:44.86), James McNaughton (64th, 25:38.92), and Jack Frizell (67th, 31:43.93).

This victory marks a major accomplishment for the Lions, showcasing their depth and determination throughout the season. With several top finishes, the team has high hopes heading into the state meet on Nov. 7th in Hot Springs!
