Chris Weller

Coach Weller brings a wealth of experience to his role as Coach, with 5 years of leadership as an AD, 9 years as a teacher and coach, and 18 years coaching youth sports. Throughout his career, he has coached Cross Country, Wrestling, Track & Field, Softball, and Basketball at both the youth and high school levels. His proudest achievement in coaching is the personal relationships he's built with athletes, parents, and fellow coaches, which have been key to the success of his teams and players.

Having worked with some of the best coaches in the country, he has been fortunate to learn and grow while helping young athletes achieve greatness. Over the past 18 years, his leadership has contributed to 6 high school team state championships, over 15 individual state champions, and the development of 50 All-State athletes. His dedication was recognized when he was named the Arkansas All Preps Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year for 2022-23.

Coach Weller’s coaching journey began with little 4, 5, and 6-year-old wrestlers who taught him the foundations of leadership and mentorship. He’s grateful to the athletes and parents who have believed in his vision and approach to success over the years.

Outside of coaching, he enjoys camping, running, hiking, and fishing. He treasures spending time with his amazing wife, Jessica, and their two intelligent and fun daughters, Willow and Lillian.

His coaching philosophy is simple: "Winning and losing doesn't define us; hard work, dedication, and perseverance are the keys to success." As a high school student, he was a 4-sport athlete, winning a state championship in football, participating in select choir, band, and serving as class president. Coming from a 600-acre farm in Gypsum, Kansas (population 400), he learned the value of hard work, integrity, and perseverance at an early age.

Coach Weller believes that it’s his job to strive for excellence in everything he does and to pass on those lessons to the next generation. He credits his success to the support of his family and community and remains committed to giving back in every way he can.

Motto: "It doesn't matter where you are from or what you came from; you have the power to be whatever you want to be!"
