Kelby Bohannon
Coach Bohannon is entering his 6th season as the Head Coach for the Gravette Lions after serving as the Defensive Coordinator for one year and also teaches Health at GHS.
Coach Bohannon came to Gravette after spending two years in Bixby, Oklahoma. There he was in charge of the Secondary and was the Special Teams Coordinator for the Spartans. Bixby finished with a state title in 2016 and runner-up in 2017.
Prior to coming to Bixby, Coach Bohannon coached at Jay High School for eight years and served as the defensive coordinator for the last five. Before coaching at Jay, he worked at his alma-mater, Dewar, where the Dragons were State-Runner up during the 2007 football campaign. There, Coach Bo worked with RB’s and LB’s. In the 2006-2007 school year, he coached with the Union Redskins serving as the varsity running backs coach.
Coach Bohannon holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Northeastern State University. Bohannon also played 1st base for the Redmen's baseball program.
Coach Bohannon has been married to his wife, Michelle, a Gravette native, for 18 years who teaches 6th grade English at the Middle School and also coaches JH cheer. They have two boys, Brody (16) and Bryor (13), who both attend Gravette schools and play for the Lions. Coach Bohannon enjoys hunting and fishing during his down time.
